Through the years, Hopkins Center has continued to grow and evolve to meet community needs, and today offers a full continuum of care, from temporary respite stays, to short-term rehabilitation, to long-term skilled nursing care, as well as a broad array of specialty programs and services.

Job Description: 

• Obtains and completes patient transport assignments (to hospital/clinical appointments) from a designated supervisor/dispatcher.
• Introduces self to patients, identifies patients appropriately, explains the nature of the trip, and transports patient to and from patient care areas with their belongings and medical equipment via wheelchair, stretcher, in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Notifies appropriate personnel upon arrival/departure of patient and/or miscellaneous items at unit/department.
• Maintains standard precautions and adheres to the isolation precautions including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Observes proper procedures and techniques during patient transport. Monitoring patient status throughout transport, reporting any changes in patient's condition (difficulty breathing, complains of discomfort, etc.) to nursing staff.
• Documents patient transport activities including acknowledge of request, in progress status, completion of requests, and delays accordingly.

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess and perform the following;

• HHA Certificate
• GED or High School Diploma
• Exceptional work ethic
• Adhere to all Company service and operating standards
• Immediately respond to emergencies & provide necessary assistance
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written
